Hey there my friends. I'm so glad you stopped by the blog today. I have a fun, fall project that everyone could use. I have been having a blast with all of the Halloween projects, I don't want to forget about the rest of the fall months and really enjoy September.
I love this phrase and it always pops into my head this time of year. Fall is such a special time for me. It's amazing how weather, colors and smells can affect or mood and life in such a drastic way. But it does! If you don't believe me, just come find me in January. It's my least favorite time of the year! ;)
The new Craft Smith Chelsea Lane paper pad is SUCH a beautiful line. This is one of our Hot Buy paper pads at Michaels right now and it's flying off the shelves. If you haven't been buy to pick a few up, you are missing out! Chelsea Lane has the colors, prints and tones that are beautiful for fall. Fall prints don't have to be orange, leaves and pumpkins all the time! I love this color palate and created a fun clipboard journal with these prints to keep myself a little more organized during this busy time of year.
I found this mini clipboard in an old stash of paper crafting products. I wish I knew where it came from but I know there are similar items in the "mini album" area of Michaels. Or you could even make this project using a full size office clipboard which would be super cute as well! There were so many fun prints that I wanted to use from the Chelsea Lane paper pad, I decided to make a project that I could use every day and enjoy it.
I love the cover piece that says, "It's an amazing day today." which is so cute and hip all on it's own. I embellished the cover a little with some epoxy stickers, wood pieces, colored twine and the "today" plastic word cut out that I layered on the cover. I really just dug through all of my embellishment boxes to find anything that would give it a fun texture. On a project like this that doesn't have to go in a scrapbook or frame, you can really go wild with layers.
I cut down all the paper for my journal to 5x7 but some of the journal pages are a little smaller. I like the look of different sized pages in a journal like this. For the interior pages of the journal, I mixed in corrugated paper, burlap and lots of white printer paper so I could have plenty of places for lists, quotes and even photos.
I have a "tab" punch from EK Success that I used to make the little tabs at the bottom as dividers. It's one of those punches that comes in handy more times than not! You could write different sections on the different tabs to really keep yourself organized.
I really love how this project turned out. Create one...or two! When I make two, I always keep one for myself and give one away. ;) The gift of a handmade item is ALWAYS deeply appreciated. The gift giving time of year is quickly approaching, I can't wait to share all kinds of Craft Smith gift ideas in anticipation for the holiday season. We have so many fun ideas in store, you won't want to miss a thing!
Have a wonderful day!
