Hello there! We are back from a 3 day weekend, aren't we?! I hope you all had a fabulous Labor Day. I spent mine "laboring" by cleaning my house, doing laundry, yard work and grocery shopping! I'm not sure if that was the intended use for the holiday but it was really nice getting a LOT of things done!
We have some fun new products at Michaels right now. Earlier this year, we released a similar line of Craft Smith textured tags which was a huge hit! I answer all of the customer service questions at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me say, I have answered a LOT of emails of customers looking for these tags. It is so fun to have them back again with new textures and new shapes. They really are a great item to keep in your craft stash.
I picked up the canvas pendant tags knowing that they would be fun for a project. I love the neutral color and texture. And it's so nice to already have the silver grommet there to give it a polished look.
My project today also uses the Craft Smith Watercolor paper pad. The first time that I flipped through this pad, I knew it would be fun to use on some fall projects. The muted colors and watercolor effect really do work beautifully together.
I have had this wreath for a couple years now and I always get it out this time of year for my front door. When I got it out this weekend, I thought "I know a way we can make this a little more special!" and got right to work! I love the little canvas pendant banner that is strung across the front.
For the "happy" letters, I cut them right out of a phrase sheet in the Watercolor paper pad. (See below) I layered the letters on top of some arrow shapes that were cut from a second sheet of paper. I added some pearl stickers, button and twine to finish it off. I hot glued the two ends of banner directly on to the wreath which secured it nicely. I really wanted to keep the banner simple since it's in a busy environment. I think it turned out perfect!
I love the colors and textures of this Watercolor paper pad. I think I will be reaching for it a lot more in the upcoming weeks!
Have a wonderful day and I'll see you back here on Thursday. I a fun Halloween project to share with you using a Heidi Swap Marquee! Can't wait ;)
