Halloween at Michaels

September is here which means Halloween is right around the corner! Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, especially when I figure in how many fun crafts that I get to do for the season! I will be sharing a Halloween project with you every week until the end of October so get ready for some fun and spooky inspiration from Craft Smith!

We are loving the new Recollections Halloween lines at Michaels! They are selling two different themed Halloween lines, and they are both super cute. There is a traditional black and orange line called "Halloween Boo" and also a black and gold line called "Midnight Magic". I love both of them and picked up quite a bit of the paper pads and embellishments to make some fun projects with. If you haven't been by your local Michaels to see the Halloween products, stop by and see. You won't be disappointed!

One of my favorite Halloween traditions is this 8x8 scrapbook that I document each year in. It is so fun to flip through the pages and literally watch my boys grow up.

{2005} Feels like yesterday my oldest son dressed up as a darling little chicken.

{2007} Our home was taken over by Pirates! Love that little chunky baby pirate! ;)

{2010} Madsen Superheros to save the day!

{2012} Playing a little "cops & robbers". Love these pictures!

I was excited to get our my Halloween album and add a layout for last year's photos in 2014. The boys are getting older and they don't like to play along with my themes like they used to. Good thing my husband is still a good sport! ;) The Recollections Halloween Boo paper and embellishments made the cutest layout! We have a Halloween party with my husband's family every year so it was fun to include all of their photos on the layout this year.

The paper from the 12x12 Halloween Boo paper pad has all of the fun traditional spiders, skeletons and classic images that remind you of the holiday. It was so fun to mix and match different patterns together on this layout. I used the polkadot burlap banner piece as a photo mat and I love how that turned out. If you look close on our family photo, you can see a fun transparent overlay that adds a fun look.

Michaels & Recollections did a great job with this Halloween release. There are so many fun embellishments to use along with the paper. These are the ones that I used on this project...

I am so excited for the next few weeks and the Halloween projects that I will get to share with you. This is really the best time of year for crafters...Halloween with Christmas right behind! There is a lot of to be had on here in the next few months, I hope you will continue to check in with us here on the blog. And don't forget to stop by Michaels to see the new Recollections line!
