Hey there! Thanks for coming by the blog today.
I am so happy to say that the lazy days of summer have finally arrived at our house! Baseball is over...well the nightly games are. The boys were each picked to play on the city All-Star team so there are a few more tournaments this summer. But the hustle and bustle is done and I can't be more happy about it! The boys have been sleeping in until 10-11am which is SO good for me and my work schedule. I love getting up early and getting a good chunk of my "to do" list done before they are awake. We like to work in the mornings and play in the afternoons all summer!
What is my favorite part of the boys being home for summer?
Definitely all the extra help with CHORES! Lol! This is a chore chart that we have been using since January and it's been an awesome system! I wish I could say that I made it but I didn't. I did the next best thing and bought it from Etsy. ;) When the boys wake up (at 11am) they have chores on their board to do. When they are done they get moved back to the center main board. Then they get allowance on Monday's if they do all their chores without me having to beg them. They do so well with it and it's so nice to have help without feeling like a nag! Since I know I will get asked, I purchased my chore chart HERE. I got to pick and choose all my chores/colors/ribbon/everything. I'm sure you could make pretty easily too!
I used the Craft Smith Terra Nova paper pad for today's layout. You can purchase Terra Nova at Michaels, it's in the paper aisle next to Blush Glam & Indigo Gold. This is such a unique set of papers. I love how you can have so many different color combinations by combining the papers differently. From the cover of this pad, I bet you wouldn't have expected a black/grey/purple combination from me! The textures are so beautiful and the colors are so rich.
I used one of my favorite family photos from last year for this layout. When I look at this layout, I see so much texture and I know it's thanks to the Terra Nova paper. I did some basic paper layering and then added cork stickers, buttons, rub ons, wood accents and alphabet stickers to embellish.
I still had my Craft Smith chalkboard tags on my craft desk from last week's project so I snuck one of those into my page. I love the unique texture that the chalkboard and cork accents give to the page. I love how it all came together, this will definitely be hanging in my 12x12 photo box for a couple months before it moves into the scrapbook.
I would love to hear what kind of projects our Craft Smith Crafters are working on! Leave me a comment here and let me know OR hop on over to our Facebook page and share your project there. I love seeing what you are creating right now, weather it's your pages, cards, planner pages or ANYTHING! Our papers can be used for so many different things.
Have a wonderful day and watch for a GIVEAWAY at the end of this week!
