"Bless the USA" Card

Hello my friends! I hope everyone is having a great week. It is HOT here in Utah! My boys played a baseball tournament all weekend in 100 degree weather so we are still trying to cool off. ;) Can't complain though, I LOVE summer!

Yesterday, I sent my son and his friends off to his very first sleep away camp at BYU. They will have football on their brains all week and they are so excited about that! I am a BYU alumni so it was so fun showing them around my old turf. ;) We got them all settled in their dorm rooms and met their counselors. I think it will be such a good growing experience for all of them. I made sure they promised me to take lots of pictures so I can put some scrapbook pages in his book! What a good scrappy mama I am! ;)

I am working on some 4th of July projects right now because this next holiday is right around the corner! I love the month of July and all the red, white and blue that it holds. The Craft Smith Indigo Gold is the perfect paper for my projects! Add a little red and it's the perfect patriotic paper.

I love this card that I made with the Indigo Gold paper! I look at it and it just makes me happy. It would be great for a veteran too. I used the Craft Smith paper for the card base (DENIM!) and the white grid background paper. Both of these prints are in the Indigo Gold line.

I cut a strip of some red and white ribbon that I had and frayed the ribbon on each stripe. I glued it down on the card, adding a Kraft paper flag pole and then gluing a piece of denim paper on the top left side of the "flag". The "stars" are tiny pearl stickers from Recollections that I love! I added the "Bless the USA" with alphabet stickers to finish the card off.

Can you imagine a more patriotic card?! I will be working on some fun decorations next so stay tuned! Hip, hip, hooray for SUMMER!

Have a fabulous day and I'll see you back here later this week!
