Flamingos on the Loose

What a fun blog this has been to put together! I knew I liked pink but I didn't know how much I loved flamingos until now! If you haven't noticed, flamingos are a huge trend for this summer. And really, how could you not love them?!

All of these fun shoes, bags and prints just scream SUMMER! I have had flamingos on my brain because my close friend has been planning her daughter's 2nd Birthday Party and this is her theme. So they have been catching my eye ever since she told me her plans. I had a stack of clothes to give my sweet little girl for her birthday and I wanted to make a special bag to put it in. She will go crazy for it!

I used the Craft Smith Blush Glam paper pad from Michaels as my color scheme. From looking at all the photos online, flamingos come in a wide range of colors of pink and I thought a soft pink ombre flamingo would be the cutest! And a little gold to jazz her up. ;)

I purchased a 2 pack of pink gift bags from Dollar Tree and cut the gold striped paper down to frame it. I found a cute flamingo shape and used my Silhouette to cut it out. The cut file is from the Silhouette store and is called "Flamingo" by Sarah Bailey. I love using my Silhouette for projects like this, if I need a single image I know where to find it!

I love the ombre effect that the flamingo has! I used gold glitter paper and black cardstock for her feet. I added some liquid glue and glitter around his wing for a little extra sparkle. And of course she had to have a googley eye!

I love to spoil this little 2 year old and these cute jammies were tucked in the bag among other goodies. I can't wait to see her in them!

I love seeing fashion and home decor trends carry over into the craft world. It's one of those things that keeps crafting fresh and fun!!! Have a wonderful weekend and I'll see you here next week!
