Friday is finally here!!!!
This is how I am feeling today. This week has been crazy! I was all excited about summer being here and having some lazy days. Well, hopefully that starts next week. My youngest had a cavity filled last week and it ended up turning into a really bad infection. So he has been super sick and ended up having to have his tooth pulled. So it's been a draining week of cuddling a sick boy while still trying to get something done during the day! Plus, it rained here all week and for some reason it got me pretty down in the dumps. I need some sunshine! This weekend's forecast is looking nice and sunny so that has a smile on my face today. I hope you all have fun plans for this weekend whether it's crafting, relaxing or a little of both!
I had a little time yesterday to sneak into my craft room, only because my parents ended up coming to stay for a couple of days and they helped distract the boys. Thank goodness for parents! Remember this blog post and the layout that I made using the denim pocket? I mentioned that I had cut the denim pocket off of a banner than I had purchased at Michaels. I have had the remainder of the banner on my desk waiting to be finished.
I got out my Craft Smith Indigo Gold paper pad which compliments the denim perfectly. When I saw there was room for a 6 letter word, the first thing that popped into my head was, "boymom." How cute would a BOYMOM banner be for a baby shower??!
I love how it turned out! The denim pockets are just so cute. First, I used my Silhouette to cut my "boymom" letters and then I glued them on with a strong liquid glue. Then I embellished the letters very simply with ribbon and stickers.
Then, I cut tags to fit inside the pockets that baby shower guests can write on. Then the tags can be gathered after the shower and added into a memory book.
I love how the Indigo Gold paper looks so good with the denim. Blue and gold are so hot right now! This paper is available at Michaels in the paper aisle and has been a huge hit.
We just found out that my brother and his wife are expecting their first baby at the end of the year. We don't know the gender yet but my sister in law has a hunch that she will be a "boy mom." Fingers crossed that I can use this banner at her shower this summer! I can just see all of the blue and gold plates, cups and favors. So so cute!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! I plan on getting some crafting done and "getting ahead" if there is any sense of the word! ;) I hope you all have a great few days and I'll see you back here next week!
