3D Haunted House

We are down to 9 days until Halloween!

That means I don't have very many days left to bring you some spooky inspiration from Craft Smith! The fun Halloween products at Michaels are starting to dwindle this week, they have been a huge hit this season. I picked up a few items the last time I was there and I have been so anxious to make this next project!

I saw this Recollection chipboard house and knew that I could create a fun home decor piece with it and the rest of my Halloween goodies. It has been sitting on my desk for a couple weeks and I was finally ready to take this project on. I used all kinds of Recollection items from my stash and other small items from Michaels.

I love how my 3D Haunted House turned out! The first thing I did was spray pain the chipboard box with some gold spray paint. Once it was dry, I was ready to start decorating it. I cut down patterned paper from the Recollections 6x6 Black & Gold paper pad and glued them down as the background of each box. After that was done, the fun part was next. Embellishing! This is always my favorite part! ;)

I dug through my Halloween stash to find any little do dad that would look cute in my "house." Of course we needed some skulls, spiders and even a bat! I used pieces from the Recollections Tag Set, Pinwheels, Orange Pom-Pom fibers, Wall Spiders and cut out several items from the paper pad. Don't forget the little hidden gems in your paper pads that are easily cut out and used for embellishments!

I added some fibers and gold heart stickers as a finishing touch. This will look so cute next to my lamp on my living room end table. A handmade decoration always gets the most attention in my house! Maybe because my friends and family have some high crafting expectations set for me. I brought it upon myself. ;)

Have a wonderful weekend! I'm sure there will be some Pre-Halloween weekend festivities going around our house. I can't wait to show you my costume this year! ;)
